Tree Service Questions, Answered

Straight answers about estimates, emergencies, licensing, service area, and how pricing really works.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes. Every estimate is free with no obligation. Most estimates are returned within 2 hours during business hours. Call or text (914) 391-5233 or use the contact form.

Do you handle storm damage and emergencies?

Yes — 24/7 emergency storm response: trees on houses, cars, or wires, hung-up limbs, and blocked driveways or roads. For an active emergency, call (914) 391-5233 directly rather than using the form. If a tree is on or near power lines, also notify your utility (NYSEG or Con Edison) and stay clear of downed wires.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Second Nature Tree Service holds Westchester County home-improvement license WC-32079 and Putnam County license PC-50644, and carries general liability, workers' compensation, and disability insurance. Certificates of insurance are issued on request for permits, HOAs, or property managers.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Peekskill, NY and serve Westchester County, Putnam County, and southern Dutchess County — 36 towns east of the Hudson including Yorktown, Cortlandt Manor, Croton-on-Hudson, Ossining, Somers, Mahopac, Carmel, and Cold Spring. See the full list on our service areas page. Outside those areas, call to confirm coverage.

How much does tree removal cost?

There's no honest flat answer — cost depends on the tree's size, species, lean, access for equipment, what's underneath it, and disposal. Anyone quoting a price without seeing the tree is guessing. That's why estimates are free: we look, then give you a firm number. Our rates page explains what drives cost up or down.

What services do you offer?

Tree removal (including crane-assisted), tree pruning and trimming, stump grinding, 24/7 emergency tree service, and land or lot clearing. We do not offer lawn care, planting, landscape design, or pest treatment.

Can you work near power lines?

Our crew is NYSEG-aware and coordinates with the utility when work is near energized lines. Never attempt to clear limbs from wires yourself — call us and the utility.

Do you take credit cards?

Yes. Every invoice comes with a secure online payment link that accepts credit and debit cards.

Who does the actual work?

The same owner-operated crew every time. You deal directly with the owners from estimate through cleanup — no call center, no subcontracted strangers.

How fast can you get to my job?

Emergencies get same-day response, 24/7. Routine work is scheduled after your free estimate — timing depends on the season, so the sooner you get on the schedule the better, especially after storms.
